Therapy Fees

Clear, straightforward pricing for your therapy

I believe you deserve to know what therapy will cost before you get started. My goal is to make the financial side of counseling as simple and transparent as possible, so you can focus your energy on deciding whether therapy feels like the right fit for you.

What does therapy cost?

Individual therapy sessions for teens and adults are $120 per session.

Payment is due the day of your session.

I also have a limited number of discounted-rate spots available. If the standard session fee feels difficult for your budget, please reach out and ask about current availability. I’m happy to let you know whether a discounted spot is available.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently a private-pay therapist, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly.

However, you may still be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company through your out-of-network benefits.

If you'd like to explore this option, I can help you check whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. If your insurance provides reimbursement for out-of-network therapy, you would pay the session fee upfront and I would provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Your insurance company determines whether they will reimburse you and how much they will cover. I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your specific benefits, deductible, reimbursement rate, and any other requirements.

Why private pay?

Working with a private-pay therapist allows us to focus your therapy around your goals and needs, rather than the requirements of an insurance company.

Private pay can also mean:

  • No insurance claims submitted by my practice

  • More flexibility in determining what we focus on in therapy

  • No insurance company deciding how many sessions you need

  • Greater control over what information you choose to share with your insurance company

If you choose to use your out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may require information about your mental health care as part of the reimbursement process. If privacy is an important consideration for you, I’m happy to talk through what private pay and out-of-network reimbursement mean before you decide how you'd like to proceed.

How can I pay for therapy?

I accept:

  • Major credit cards

  • Debit cards

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

Payment is collected on the day of your scheduled session.

Questions about fees?

I know that figuring out the financial side of therapy can feel a little awkward. It doesn't have to be.

If you're wondering about the session fee, discounted-rate availability, or using your out-of-network benefits, please reach out. I'm happy to answer your questions so you can make an informed decision about whether therapy with Selah Counseling and Trauma Therapy is right for you.
