Does It Feel Like Everyone Else Has Life Figured Out Except You?

Maybe you're wondering if you're the only one who feels this way.

  • Do you feel like everyone around you has a plan while you're just trying to keep your head above water?

  • Do you overthink conversations, relationships, or every big decision, worried you'll make the wrong choice?

  • Do you feel pressure to have your career, faith, friendships, and future all figured out at once?

  • Do you feel stuck between who you've always been and who you're trying to become?

  • Do you find yourself wondering, "Why does adulthood feel so much harder than everyone said it would?"

If you're nodding along, you're not alone.

What Life Can Feel Like Right Now

One day you're excited about your future. The next, you're questioning every decision you've ever made. You're trying to build healthy relationships, make career decisions, maybe navigate dating, faith, family expectations, or graduate school, all while carrying pressure that no one else seems to notice. You might look like you're holding it together on the outside while internally wondering if you're somehow falling behind.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't that life is difficult. It's feeling like you're the only one struggling while everyone else seems to be doing just fine.

You Are Not Alone

Young adulthood is one of the biggest seasons of transition we'll ever experience. Research consistently shows that many mental health conditions first emerge during the late teens and twenties, making this one of the most emotionally demanding stages of life.

Despite how common it is, many young adults hear things like:

"Everyone feels stressed."

"These are supposed to be the best years of your life."

"You'll figure it out."

While often well-intended, those responses can leave you feeling even more alone.

You deserve more than simply surviving this season. You deserve support that helps you understand what you're experiencing and why.

Building a Life That Feels Like Yours Is Possible

You don't have to keep living in survival mode.

Sometimes anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, relationship struggles, or old wounds quietly shape the way you move through adulthood. Without realizing it, you may find yourself making decisions out of fear instead of confidence or trying so hard to meet everyone else's expectations that you've lost touch with your own.

Healing isn't about becoming someone different.

It's about understanding yourself more deeply so you can begin making choices that feel authentic, healthy, and aligned with who you truly are.

What Will a Young Adult Therapist Provide for Me?

Therapy isn't about someone telling you what to do with your life.

It's a place where we slow things down together and become curious about what's happening beneath the surface.

Our first session is simply a conversation. I'll want to learn about your story, what brings you in, and what you hope will feel different. You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door, and you certainly don't need to tell your whole life story in one session.

Because every person is different, therapy is tailored to you. Depending on your goals, I may draw from approaches like EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care to help you better understand yourself, process painful experiences, and develop practical tools for everyday life.

Over time, many clients notice they respond differently to stress, feel more confident in relationships, trust themselves more, and experience a greater sense of peace and authenticity.

You May Have Some Concerns. That's Okay.

  • "What if my problems aren't bad enough for therapy?"

You don't have to hit a breaking point before asking for support. Therapy isn't reserved for crises. Many people come simply because they want to understand themselves better and stop feeling stuck.

  • "What if I don't know what to talk about?"

That's completely okay. Most people don't walk into therapy with a perfectly organized story. My job is to help guide the conversation so we can figure it out together.

  • "What if therapy feels awkward?"

The first session often feels a little unfamiliar, and that's normal. There's no expectation to share everything right away. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

  • "What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't help?"

Every therapist has a different style. If you've had a disappointing experience, it doesn't necessarily mean therapy wasn't right for you. Sometimes finding the right fit makes all the difference.
